Master of Global Music Deadline


The 2010 application deadline for the Master of Global Music (GLOMAS) program is nearly here.


This joint study program offers the unusual opportunity to study for a Master degree in the field of world music at institutions in three different European nations. The program also provides opportunities to learn about the contemporary music industry and to conduct field work studies in Africa and the Middle East through the Glomus Network for higher music education.

Master Class & Music Gesture Research in Oslo











For the past few days I have been in Oslo, Norway, collaborating with colleagues from NNIMIPA (Nordic Network for the Integration of Music Informatics, Performance and Aesthetics) on a research project at the University of Oslo. Our project is using a combination of state of the art motion capture (infrared) video analysis technologies and qualitative methods to examine musical gestures as well as interactions in the context of a master class event.
